The Caterpillar Thirty was one of the first tractors Caterpillar ever produced. Manufactured from 1925-1932 these machines were a staple to the American mid-west as a mid-sized machine. With the original Best designed gas Thirty and Sixty, it was a cornerstone of the original CAT lineup after the merger in 1925. Holding 30HP and 10,000lbs, the 30 was built to be almost a scale replicate of the Sixty. Offering a top seat and a tail seat version, the Thirty's were manufactured both in San Leandro, CA, USA ('S' Series) and in Peoria, IL, USA ('PS' Series). As the S and PS Thirty's were transitioned into the 6G series, they became the R4's, with a modernized physical appearnace, more closely resembaling the Twenty and Fifteen's (because the 6G's became the R4's, you will see the 6G series listed on the R4 page).
